Birth Mothers Overwhelmingly Support Adult Adoptees
When birth mothers are given the opportunity to speak authentically, they consistently demonstrate strong support for adult adoptees pursuing their fundamental right to equality. The notion that birth mothers desire secrecy or oppose adoptee access to their own vital records is a destructive myth that requires legislative courage to dismantle. We champion the political will of legislators to abandon the culture's conditioning from harmful adoption practices and recognize that the institutional practice of conflating privacy with secrecy not only silences women but weaponizes their experiences against adoptee equality.
